Overview

1. Review your Step 2 inventory for a list of people or situations that can be used in this step.
2. You will create 3 inventories in this step.
   • Anger/Resentment – People or institutions that I have anger or resentment towards
   • Fears/Anxiety – People or institutions I have fear or anxiety towards
   • Sexual Conduct – People that I have been involved in sexual conduct with
3. Start by making a list of people in the first column, then work across the columns.
4. BE CAREFUL – The Sexual Conduct inventory can be very triggering as you relive those memories. Make sure you are in a safe place (not alone) and check-in with your sponsor when you start working on it.

2. Open and review my example file
   • Go to the Step 4 Files folder below
   • Open the file “Rick’s Step 4 Spreadsheet.pdf”
3. Start working on your own Step 4 Inventory
   1. Option 1 – Make your own on paper
      • You may follow the directions and make your own inventory on paper.
   2. Option 2 – Print PDF
      • Go to the Step 4 Files folder below
      • Open the file “Step 4 Spreadsheet – Template.pdf”
      • Print as many copies as you need
   3. Option 3 – Use Excel spreadsheet (requires Excel or similar app)
      • Go to the File Versions link below
      • Click on Download under the Excel-Files.zip file
      • Go to your Download folder on your computer
      • Doubleclick the Zip file to extract all the files to a folder of your choice
      • Open the file “Step 4 Inventory – Excel Template.xlsx”
      • Save your work to your own filename or into a different folder.
