Read it. One of the best approaches to the underlying spiritual reasons for the addiction I have read. I highlighted probably 40% of the book. I read things I have not heard others express. It was unnerving to recognize thoughts that have been rattling around in my heart on a page.

Read it. Some very different approaches to sexual addiction. Definitely will get you thinking. One key quote I really liked is: “The irony of sinful sexual behavior is that it is actually against sex. It is not that we want too much sex; it is that we want too much anti-sexual behavior.” A good book to grapple with.

Hide or Seek: When Men Get Real with God about Sex

by John Freeman

Read it. I love his writing. He also approaches the issue of the failure of the church and leadership to address and apply the gospel to this gaping wound. Be careful. In chapter 7 there is a story about a father, John, and his little son, Sam, that ripped my heart out with “What if’s?” in my life. I had to send an email to the author to ask about what had happened to that little boy.
